My nephew and us

My nephew is about to pass out from school in the coming months and everyone in the family is discussing his future plans with him. Seeing him take charge of the discussion reminds me of the time when he would rely upon us to make such decisions for him. When my cousin wanted to get him enrolled in one of the top 10 schools in Greater Noida West, it was us who gathered enough information about the schools and their admission processes. At that time, while we were doing Google searches and going through different school brochures, my little nephew was busy playing with his society friends in the park in front of the house. How fast time flies... Today, he is about to pass out from a top school in Greater Noida West and is ready to step into the next phase of his life. We are just glad that we were able to send him to a top school and provide him with a good education.

We have discussed that we will try our best to provide him with the best of opportunities until he is ready to stand on his feet. All we can do right now is offer him many possibilities and options and provide certain resources that we can afford, and the rest will depend upon him. Of course, we would like to see him succeed and lead a very successful and happy life but when he was little, we had already decided that we would not put any pressure upon him the way our parents put upon us.

After we send him off to college, we will start focusing on the other two children of the house who will come close to passing out from school in the coming 4 years. And when we are done setting their opportunities and resources in place, we will move our focus towards any new children that might become a part of this family. All our hard work would be worth it if these children follow their passion and start making a stable decent living that would allow them to become financially, emotionally and mentally independent in life.
